Forget your white noise app, listen to Iggy Pop’s bedtime story about his dog instead

Initiated by acclaimed artist Maurizio Cattelan, New York’s New Museum has launched a new digital series titled ‘Bedtime Stories’. The project will see a range of artists and performers reading excerpts from their favourite books and sharing original tales daily until the end of June.

Imagined as a means of staying connected during these isolating times, Cattelan has curated a selection of musicians and artists he admires to read existing works, share their own writings and create impromptu performances.

Launched today, the first instalment features an original tale by Iggy Pop which reads like a love letter to his late dog, Tromba. His rumbling baritone and penchant for words are equally engaging and soothing, which is really what you want in a bedtime story.

The series will also feature a range of eclectic storytellers, including David Byrne, Michael Stipe, Black Thought, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami and many more.
