Epiphone’s new Prophecy series has landed

Words by Will Brewster

Loaded with Fishman Fluence pickups and available in an amazing range of finishes.

After giving punters a glimpse at the colourful new range earlier in the year, Epiphone have today launched the Prophecy series, a killer new range of guitars to suit the needs of hard rock and metal players today.

Comprised of a range of Les Paul, SG, Explorer and Flying V models in addition to a modified variant of the Explorer dubbed the Extura, each model in the Prophecy range is crafted from mahogany with a 0.5″ maple cap, while AAA flame maple veneer tops help to add a touch of class to the flashy new series.

The Prophecy series also makes use of SlimTaper asymmetrical mahogany necks, with all models also featuring an ebony fretboard with 24 frets – perfect for hitting all the high notes.

There’s even Graph Tech NuBone nuts and brushed Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners, while each model is loaded with Fishman’s acclaimed Fluence pickups, offering a myriad of chunky humbucker tones, plucky single coil sounds and everything in between.

To top it off, Epiphone have treated the Prophecy range to a colourful array of tiger-striped finishes, including Purple Tiger Aged Gloss, Yellow Tiger Aged Gloss, Black Gloss and Olive Tiger Aged Gloss.

Considering the specs on offer here, it seems like the Prophecy series could hint towards a massive overhaul for the Epiphone brand as they continue to adapt to suit the needs of the modern player.
