Ableton announces online Loop Create event

Words by Eli Duxson

Connect with beatmakers all around the world.

Ableton Loop has confirmed their annual Loop summit will take place online as Loop Create from June 26 to 27, with other events to be held in-person, and as a combination of both formats to be announced.

The summit will continue to help music makers gain new insights and techniques to use in their own music-making process, try out new ideas, and share the results with a community of creators from all over the world in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The event will be hosted on Ableton’s microsite for Loop events and will begin at 11am in Berlin (7pm AEST) and will run throughout the day.

Sessions will be repeated so attendees can join in from wherever they are and catch the full program in a configuration that suits their local time.

The event will run like previous Loop summits with a variety of sessions in different formats with attendees provided the opportunity to meet fellow music makers in facilitated conversations.

While the line-up of artists, musicians, technologists, and educators who host the sessions to share individual insights and methods has not yet been announced, previous hosts include Simon Reynolds, Kelela, Richard Devine, and Equiknoxx.

After cancelling their in-person summit last year due to COVID-19, they adapted to the virtual format like so many events had to.

Their ambition was to return to the usual format in late April, but last year stated that “the health and safety of our attendees is our concern above all else”.

The event is free to attend for anyone who registers. Registration opens May 26.
