Regarded in the gaming world as the crème de la crème of soundtracks, EA Sports has released details of the soundtrack to FIFA 2019, featuring a premium assortment of contemporary artists and a cheeky little splash of Australian music thrown in for good measure.
Melbourne wordsmith Courtney Barnett's ode to solitude 'City Looks Pretty', Mansionair's neon-drenched banger 'Violent City' and Confidence Man's Madchester-esque throwback 'Out The Window' are set to feature on the new addition to the adored football simulator, which is set for release on later this month on Friday September 28. New Zealand duo Broods also make an appearance on the soundtrack with their track 'Peach,' and Sia pops up on 'Genius' as part of her LSD project with Labrinth and Diplo – so I guess we can claim them as being Australian too, right?
The trio of Aussie acts join a meticulously curated assortment of artists, including indie heavyweights such as Gorillaz and Death Cab For Cutie, hip-hop bigshots Childish Gambino, Logic and J Cole, as well as some premium left-field entries such as South Korean acid-house queen Peggy Gou's banger 'It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)'. Once again, it looks like EA have done another great job creating a smokin' playlist for you to pretend to be participating in sporting culture to – hats off to their music curators for this one.
