The album, Dying To Live, features an all-star cast of musicians including Jeff Scott Soto (vocals), Russell Allen (vocals), Tony Franklin (bass), Vinny Appice (drums), and Derek Sherinian (keyboards).
This is not the first solo offering from Hoekstra, who released three instrumental, guitar driven albums earlier in his career.
Hoekstra was responsible for the production, song writing and arranging on the album and said that he ‘[feels] it showcases [his] production, writing and playing in the genre [he’s] best known for these days.’
