Guns N’ Roses have paid tribute to the late George Young with a performance of a classic AC/DC track at their show in Hartford, Connecticut.
Axl Rose preceded the band’s cover of ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ with a dedication to Young, saying, “This is for Angus Young and this is dedicated to George Young, who actually produced this song in the day.”
Young passed away earlier this week as announced in a statement by AC/DC, whose lineup includes Young’s brothers Malcolm and Angus.
Young is remembered for his immense contribution to music through his work as guitarist for the Easybeats, producer for the likes of AC/DC and Rose Tattoo, and as half of the acclaimed songwriting duo, Vanda & Young. He was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1998 for his work with Harry Vanda and again in 2005 with the induction of The Easybeats.
