It doesn't get Eddie Vedder than this: over the weekend, punters for Johnny Marr's set at California's Ohana Music Festival were treated to a once in a lifetime performance when the Pearl Jam frontman joined the indie guitar hero onstage to perform a classic cut from The Smiths.
Prior to Vedder's appearance onstage, met to unduly applause, of course, Marr introduced the Pearl Jam frontman as being a "good friend of mine; someone who I’ve admired and who’s been good to me and who’s an inspiration.”
The pair then launched into a rousing rendition of The Smiths' anthem of late night despair 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out,' with Vedder's vocals adding a disctintively '90s tinge to the indie classic. Check out crowd-shot footage of the performance below:
