Violent Soho announce hometown Christmas gig

Announced not long after the launch of guitarist James Tidwell’s label Domestic La La Records, the Christmas-themed show will feature support from Brisbane five-piece WAAX alongside a comedy routine from Aaron Gocs, who will be dressed as Santa for the occasion, with the night hosted by Frenzal Rhomb lead guitarist and former triple j presenter Lindsay McDougall.

Violent Soho were “knocking the froth off a couple at the Mansfield Tavern” when they arrived at the idea of their Santa Is Coming to Mansfield gig after being told by the Events Manager that, “You guys are the only band I am allowed to let play here.”

“We love playing the Mansfield Tavern,” said the band in a statement. “…Rumour has it that it’s up for sale so we want to play it at least one more time before our spiritual stomping ground is sold and we can’t play there anymore. It’s literally the only way to see us with a home field advantage.”

An added bonus for the festivities is the inclusion of a free Christmas-themed photo shoot with Violent Soho from 5pm onwards. The photos are on a first in, best dressed basis for ticket holders only, and just might make the perfect Christmas card for 2017.

Violent Soho expressed their excitement for the forthcoming show in a statement, saying, “We’re going all out on the Christmas theme and putting together a very different set list. So come and celebrate the festive time of year in our suburb of Mansfield in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia with us. It’s going to be one for the ages.”
