TuneCore, the US-based digital aggregator that has been operating in Australia since 2015, is now offering its users the option of receiving a monetary advance based on predicted future distribution sales revenue.
TuneCore Direct Advance will provide users the option to request a cash advance through their TuneCore Balance Page upon paying a one-time fee and agreeing to repay the advance through future streaming and download sales. The service allows artists to maintain ownership of their music and obtain an advance with little difficulty.
“This is a one-of-a-kind integrated offering that gives artists a hassle-free, reliable way to access their future earnings quickly and easily,” said Scott Ackerman, CEO at TuneCore. “We are deeply invested in the careers of our artists and are committed to ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to succeed.”
The advance option is a result of support by financial and technology company Lyric Financial. The company worked with TuneCore for two years in order to bring the Direct Advance idea to life. While TuneCore is available in Australia, their Direct Advance service is currently available only in the US.
