Tommy Emmanuel announces Bluesfest 2019 sideshows

The tour will see Emmanuel hit the road in April, with stops in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Mandurah, Perth, Melbourne and a special show at the Sydney Opera House.

Nashville guitarist Jerry Douglas will have a support slot for each show on the tour, bringing a wealth of experience from a career that’s earned him 14 Grammy awards.

“I am very excited to announce that I will be heading back to Australia in April, and I’ll be bringing along the Dobro master Jerry Douglas with me,” said Emmanuel in a statement. “I can’t wait to share what Jerry and I do in my homeland. This will be Jerry’s first trip to Australia, so let’s give him a warm welcome. Jerry will play solo, I’ll play solo, and then we’ll tear it up together.”

Emmanuel’s appearance at the 30th anniversary of Bluesfest and his seven sideshows arrive off the back of his latest album, Accomplice One, which was released in January.
