Tommy Emmanuel, Albert Lee and more to perform at Sydney Guitar Festival

Showcasing Six-String Maestros

After enjoying an enormously successful inaugural event last year, Sydney Guitar Festival has shared details of the first lineup announcement for their 2018 festivities.

Leading the lineup is renowned Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, who will treat audiences to a special collaborative performance featuring his brother, Phil. American guitarist and composer Kaki King is also slated to perform, while classical guitar duo the Grigoryan Brothers will make their return to the festival after appearing at the 2017 event.

Grammy-award winning guitarist Albert Lee has also been announced as a huge highlight of the lineup, and a Jimi Hendrix tribute show called Purple Haze is sure to be a drawcard for any guitarist.

As if that wasn’t enough, the festival is introducing a new initiative for the 2018 event, adding the inaugural Sydney Guitar Festival Gala to showcase a curated lineup of artists from this year’s celebrations.

Sydney Guitar Festival runs from Thursday August 9 - Sunday August 19. For more information, visit their website.
