Elaborating on the single’s organic and authentic origins, Tkay explains that ‘[‘Ghost’ was purely made by friends hanging out and vibing…George has random vocals she recorded over really cool, dark melodies and we [all] worked together and expanded it’. Tastemakers Triple J picked up the song shortly after its release, premiering it on their airwaves and thanking the artist for ‘making Monday a lot more tolerable’. We know all too well that that’s an incredibly testimony, as it’s insanely difficult to make Monday any better than pretty shit.
The release of ‘Ghost’ comes off the back of Tkay’s massive, sixteen-date tour of Australia in which she sold out almost all of her shows.
