Tangible Waves describe their approach as ‘not-so-perfect’, differentiating the AE Modular from the many digital synths and plugins that can often sound overly polished. Instead, the company place importance on the synth as an artistic tool, which can be previewed in the video below where it is synced with a Novation CIRCUIT.
You can currently order the synth with two different pre-installed module racks, with each row fitting up to 16 modules. The 1-row rack will come pre-installed with a VCO, 2OSC, Noise, Filter, ENV, 2VCA, LFO, 2S&H, 2ATT/CV Mixer4/4, Delay and Master I/O.
With the AE Modular going for 385 euros, which is around $550, this won’t hurt your bank account but could impact your sound in a big way.
