Take a tour of Paul Reed Smith’s Indonesian guitar factory

The tour follows the COO of PRS, Jack Higginbotham, as he strolls through the SE factory, offering an insight into both the manufacturing process and facilities utilised by PRS in the South-East Asian market. There’s a whole bunch of interesting little tidbits throughout the video, including a glimpse into how flame maple veneers are applied to the tops of the guitars, and you’ll be surprised by the amount of actual hand-finishing that goes into these instruments.

Given our geographic proximity to Indonesia, it’s certainly interesting watching this video from an Australian perspective. We’ve positively reviewed a great number of PRS SE guitars over the years, and it’s definitely refreshing to see the amount of work that goes into these guitars, particularly when there’s still so many guitarists apprehensive of instruments coming from these markets.
