Summer NAMM 2020 has been cancelled

A statement from NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond and Chairmann C.F. Martin confirmed that the trade show, which was set to go down from July 9 – 11 in Nashville, would not be going ahead this year.

“After speaking with so many of you and closely following the latest news regarding the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Summer NAMM, scheduled for July 9–11 in Nashville. We sincerely recognize the importance of this annual mid-year gathering for our industry. However, the current circumstances make it impossible to hold the show or to undertake the many months of careful planning and preparation that are required to create a secure and organized event.”

While it’s not quite the same beast as the usual Anaheim-based NAMM that floods your newsfeed each January, Summer NAMM still plays a pretty important role in the launch of new products and kick off the financial year in the gear community. With no Summer NAMM and no Superbooth, it looks like it might be a bit of a quiet period for new products – fingers crossed for some positive news soon.
