Formed in 2014 by siblings Jack and Lucy Wilson, the band quickly recruited a couple of friends and began taking the local music scene by storm. Their debut release features 13 blistering soul numbers, deeply rooted by the old-school marquis of the genre.
Recorded at Melbourne’s Soundpark Recording Studios and produced by Naomune Anzai, the release follows on from the band’s highly successful single, ‘Oh Darling’.
The Sugarcanes have also announced that they are celebrating their debut album with a fun-filled launch show at The Tote on April 15th with special guests Yard Apes and Jim Lawrie Band.
