Solar Guitars introduce two new Type S models

Although we’ve seen plenty of Type S guitars from Englund and Solar Guitars in the past, these two newbies stand out from the bunch with their vivid hues and distinctive tops. The Type S1.6 Poplar Purple Burl boasts a mahogany body with, you guessed it, a Poplar Burl top, finished in none other than Purple. It’s also got a deluxe five-ply maple and jotoba neck with an ebony fretboard, while the neck-through construction of the instrument makes for a real high-end shredding experience. The Type S1.6 Poplar Purple Burl features an EverTune bridge, two Duncan Solar pickups and 18:1 Solar locking tuners, and should be ready to ship by late October.

Englund’s second offering is the Type S2.6FBL, decked out in a Flame Blue Matte finish. It shares pretty similar specs and electronics with its Poplar Purple Burl brethren, adding 24 extra jumbo frets and a super-flat 13.78″ fretboard radius for racing up and down the fretboard like the little demon you know you are. The Type S2.6FBL features a flame maple veneer top with a set neck, as well as a hard-tail bridge and 18:1 Grover tuners, and like the Type S1.6 Poplar Purple Burl, is available in late October.
