Show & Tell is where we get artists to tell us about a piece of gear that they cherish and use as a part of their live or studio setup. This month we chat to Jake Howsam Lowe, guitarist for Plini and Scoredatura.
What piece of equipment do you have to show us today? My Fractal Axe-Fx II.
How did you come across this particular item? Pretty sure I originally saw guys like Misha from Periphery using the original Axe-Fx and got an Axe-Fx Ultra for myself. It was so useful for me that I instantly upgraded when the II came out.
What is it that you like about it so much? It will literally cover any and every tonal requirement that I ever have.
How do you use it and how has it shaped the way you write music? I use it to record everything I do as well as use it for all my live shows. I’ve used it for everything from pop gigs in Sydney to touring internationally in prog metal bands.
Tell us a little about what you have coming up? 2018 will be a busy start with Scoredatura releasing our new album, followed by two shows in LA playing with Plini, Mohini Dey and Marco Minnemann, and then a Sydney show with Scoredatura on February 3 at Lazy Bones.
The new Scoredatura album Honest Oblivion is out on Friday January 12. You can pre-order it now on their Bandcamp page.
