Two of the most well known DJ hardware and software companies have come together in celebration of arguably the single most famous and widely used drum machine ever created - the Roland TR-808.
When you purchase Roland's latest DJ-808 digital controller, you'll receive a limited edition TR-808 Serato double vinyl along with it while stocks last. The vinyl features beat tracks from some of the most legendary beatmakers from the peak of the 808's popularity along the lines of Just Blaze, DJ QBert, Marley Marl, Egyptian Lover and Machinedrum.
The DJ-808 itself can function as a standalone mixer, but with its additional phono inputs it is purpose built to be used in conjunction with the TR-808 vinyl, with the B-side of the vinyl featuring a control tone which allows you to control the mixer using the vinyl via Serato's Digital Vinyl System. It also has inbuilt TR-909, 808, 707 and 606 drum samples for the drum pads to give users a wide array of access to Roland's beatmaking legacy.
While the vinyl seems to only be currently available in Europe, we're tipping it will reappear as a collector's item in years to come.
