While the new model bares significant characteristics to the original, the revised model D brings in new features. Fitted with TIS97, TIS93 and TIS92 transistors that are remade to match the exact specs and powerful internal sound engine has been maintained.
In the video below, the Model D shows the classic Moog look and signature sound, and effortlessly replicates and transforms original archived audio from creator Bob Moog. Bob describes it as “The perfect way to marry to past and present, to represent the re-birth of this historical instrument.”
After more than 30 years, the Minimoog Model D returned as a pilot-production run at Moogfest 2016 in Durham, NC. Handcrafted in the Moog Pop-Up Factory, the pilot-production units built during the festival were made available for purchase on-site at the Moog Store by Guitar Center.
