PUSSY RIOT JOIN DARK MOFO LINEUP

The Tasmanian Festival's Second Lineup Announcement Is Here

Political punk artists Pussy Riot will be coming to Hobart for the city’s Dark Mofo festival in June. Other artists featured on the event's second announcement include a solo set from the Hiatus Kaiyote singer Nai Palm, UK grime act Gaika and ambient artist Anu Lou.

Pussy Riot’s Maria ‘Masha’ Alyokhina and Alexander ‘Sasha’ Bogino will be doing a Q&A and a late night DJ set at the festival on Wednesday June 14, following a screening of the documentary Act And Punishment. This film follows the story of three of the band’s members after they were arrested and imprisoned in 2012 for staging a politicised performance in Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ The Saviour.

They join the already announced lineup featuring German industrial legends Einsturzende Neubauten and Scottish post-rock hereos Mogwai, as well as local legends Paul Kelly, Thelma Plum and A.B. Original.
