Paul Reed Smith Guitars have announced a limited run of SE Custom 24 models with Roasted Maple necks in the US market, and boy do they look good.
You might remember these bad boys being launched a while ago as an exlusive to the European market, so it's nice to see they're squeezing a few more out of the factory - although it'd be nice to get some in Australia too!
Specs-wise, these guitars are pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a PRS SE Custom 24 - there's flame maple veneer top and mahogany body, the 25" scale, Wide Thin neck with 24 frets and dual PRS 85/15 S humbuckers with push/pull tone controls. What makes them special this time around is the deluxe roasted/torrefied maple neck and fretboard, which look and play like an absolute dream.
PRS are apparently only making less than 2,000 of these Limited Edition guitars, so you'll have to hit up your mates in the States for one of these ones. They'll be available to purchase in a range of cool finishes, including Whale Blue, Trampas Green, Charcoal Burst and Tobacco Burst finishes - smokers delight!
