Prince’s Signature Yellow Cloud Guitar Is Up For Auction

The worlds largest collectibles auctioneers Heritage Auctions are set to auction off Princes yellow cloud-shaped guitar which has been used throughout Prince’s live performances on ‘Cream’ and ‘Get Off’ throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s.

The guitar is priced at $41,285AUD and is set for auction on June 24th. Current owner and fan Richard Lecce states that, “I’ve been a Prince fan since I was a kid…I think something as valuable as this could be too risky to continue to have in my possession.”

While the reason is valid, it does seem like quite the “opportunistic” time to sell the instrument. Other than posing with the guitar in photos, Lecce doesn’t play any musical instruments and initially bought the guitar for its ‘super cool’ and ‘stylish’ nature.

The signature guitar comes with a letter of authenticity from Princes guitar technician Zeke Clark, and has noted that the guitars neck was broken in France in 1994 and later repaired.

Other items to be auctioned off in Beverly Hills California include Prince’s record sales awards and original demo tapes.
