Paul McCartney's Carpool Karaoke is set to air as a one hour special event

Following The Success Of The Original Segment

After the immense popularity of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke with Beatles legend Paul McCartney, the segment is now set for release as a special hour-long episode.

After the original 23-minute clip garnered over 130 million views when it was released via Facebook and YouTube, CBS has subsequently commissioned a full 60-minute version, well over double the length of the original. Shot back in June, the segment followed Corden and McCartney as they drove around the singer's hometown of Liverpool before winding up at a small pub where the former Beatle played to an intimate concert and debuted a brand new song.

The two aptly sang 'Drive My Car' together, among other famous classic Beatles tracks, while visiting places from McCartney's childhood, and some of the famous landmarks referenced in his songs. You can watch the original short version above to tide you over until the extended version comes out on Monday August 20.
