The OM-1 Tape Synth Is A Cassette Revivalist’s Dream

synth cassette.jpg

Paying homage to their classic Mellotron and Ondes Martenot, the first of its kind synth features eight pitch buttons with a function to control the tuning, while each note is controlled individually by a pressure-sensitive pad.

The OM-1 gives a continuous signal from the cassette and alters the pitch by changing the speed of the tape playback. Also fitted on the OM-1, is a three-position switch that controls the audio’s response like the attack and release (short, medium or long). The OM-1 allows a CV/Gate input for controlling the cassettes pitch and volume from a linear voltage sequencer.
