Nord announce new Grand stage piano

As the first stage piano by Nord to feature triple sensors, the Grand offers an extremely responsive playing experience, tracking the movement of the key hammers instead of the keys to deliver the “smooth and dynamic touch of an acoustic grand.” The Grand’s keys also feature an Ivory touch surface for fluid performance and an ultra-realistic response.

The sound engine of the Nord Grand is split into two seperate Piano and Sample Synth sections to offer a wide selection of tonal possibilities. While the Piano section includes all the usual Grand, Electric, Upright and Digital pianos from Nord’s Piano Library, the Sample Synth section provides players with an assortment of Brass, String, Mellotron, Choir and Synth sounds, plucked straight from the Nord Sample Library 3.0. The synth section also features realistic attack, decay/release and filer/velocity controls, with dedicated category buttons to navigate through your arsernal of patches.

In addition to being packaged in the ubiquitous Nord red enclosure, the Grand comes shipped with a handy foldaway stand, as well as a responsive Nord Triple Pedal. While there’s no news yet on how much this grandiose machine will cost, there’s no doubt it’ll be well worth every penny – might want to start saving, eh?

Nord Keyboards are available in Australia through Electric Factory
