Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, two of Australia's most formidable music talents and founders of The Bad Seeds, are set to perform a number of works from their catalogue of film scores in conjunction with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the Melbourne International Film Festival later this year.
Compositions from the likes of The Proposition, The Road, The Assassination Of Jesse James and more will be fleshed out with some help from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in August to celebrate the longstanding musical partnership of Cave and Ellis in August this year.
Renowned for their penchant for dark sounds and sweeping textures in their works for both Hollywood and indie productions, it's fair to assume that these concerts with the MSO will showcase Ellis and Cave's musical mastery at its very best. Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning - there's every chance these tickets will sell out in a heartbeat, so you best have your finger on the buzzer here.
The Film Music of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis will be running between Friday August 9 and Saturday August 10 at Arts Centre Melbourne. Tickets go on sale Thursday April 11 via MSO's website.
