NAMM 2020: Orange delve into low end territory with new Bass Butler and Little Bass Thing

Functioning as a bi-amp rig to split your signal into parallel analogue chains, the Orange Bass Butler features both Clean and Dirty channels to allow for a wide range of tones. The Clean channel of the bi-amp presents users with controls for compression, bass, treble and volume, as well as further parameters for tone cut/boost, an optical compressor and a cabinet-simulating DI output.

The Dirty channel, on the other hand, gives you control over Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass and four stages of Gain – delicious. This side can also be beefed up with a cab-simulated balanced DI and an expression pedal to sweep gain levels. There’s also XLR outputs for both channels, as well as an Amp output to blend between cab simulated signals and a Ground Lift switch to kill off any hum from a PA or amplifier.

The Orange Little Bass Thing presents users with a more traditional amplifier, offering 500 watts of solid state class D power. It weighs a meek three kilograms, and makes use of a versatile parametric mid control, bass and treble knobs and a tasty 15dB of boost. The Little Bass thing even features an inbuilt Class A Opto Compressor, as well as an FX loop, balanced DI output and a Ground Lift switch, while a 6dB input pad switch lets you alternate between active and high output pickups without any signal loss.
