This finish was originally offered in a limited run for Music Man instruments and then retired. Sterling by Music Man are now doing their own take on the Neptune Blue finish, including deep quilted tops. The JP150 is built from African mahogany and maple, much like some of Petrucci’s higher-priced models. A pair of Sterling by Music Man-designed humbucking pickups is powerful yet clear enough for beautiful clean tones and the active 12dB boost and modern tremolo with back routing cement the fact that the JP150 is a high-performance guitar that can proudly hang next to any of Petrucci’s incredibly popular signature models.
