MUSIC CONSULTANT – MUSTARD MUSIC (Sydney)

 

Mustard Music, a company specialising in live and digital music, is currently accepting applications for full-time and part-time Music Consultant positions with their digital music division. 

 

Skills/Responsibilities Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in music such as (but not limited to) programming and/or profiling experience, DJ-ing, collecting, performing, writing/producing, record label or band promotion
  • A passion for music and flexibility to work irregular hours when required
  • Broad music knowledge across a variety of genres
  • A keen interest in new and upcoming artists across all genres
  • A technical mindset with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
  • A working experience of digital audio, including digitising, basic audio editing and mp3 conversion would be preferable
  • If applying for a part-time position, at least 2 days availability per week

 

Tasks Include:

  • Working with venues to ascertain their brand, the demographics and psychographics of their clientele, trading patterns and formulate a clear music brief reflecting this
  • Curating playlists based on music profile and/or genre briefs for use within digital music players
  • Preparing and dispatching monthly music updates in accordance with client subscription package
  • Carrying out bespoke music / brand related work for prescribed clients
  • Maintaining music knowledge by continually researching new and old music, identifying trends and scouting emerging artists from a broad range of genres
  • Attending client meetings as required for (but not limited to) formulating music briefs, understanding required revisions, explain music choices, installations and training
  • Striving to achieve zero churn rate of venues by providing ongoing exceptional client service
  • Assisting with the importing, classifying, mastering, tagging and cataloguing of digital audio assets within music library

VENUE OPERATOR / DUTY MANAGER – CENTURY VENUES (Sydney)

 

Century Venues are currently seeking potential Music Venue Operators and Duty Managers to work across some of Sydney’s most iconic gig spots, including The Enmore, Metro Theatre, Factory Theatre and The Sydney Comedy Store.

 

Skills/Responsibilities Required:

  • Relevant industry experience managing live entertainment venues and licensed premises with expertise and knowledge in live music, theatre and comedy productions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and solve problems quickly and effectively
  • The ability to lead and supervise staff and provide a high level of customer service
  • Fluency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated bar running operations
  • A knowledge of Liquor Licensing Laws and WHS requirements

 

Tasks Include:

  • Box office operations, bar management, cash handling, client hospitality, crowd control, event staff and security briefings and venue setups+turnarounds
  • Representing the group through liason with Tour Managers, Promoters, Artists and Clients
  • Recruiting, training and grading all associated event staff
  • Conducting and supervising venue maintenance and presentation
  • RSA management, cash handling and ordering

MUSIC PRODUCER – ABC CLASSIC FM (Melbourne)

 

As the nation’s leading classical music broadcaster, ABC Classic is currently accepting applications for a classical music lover to join the team as a Music Producer in their Southbank offices.

 

Skills/Responsibilities Required:

  • Extensive knowledge of classical music repertoire and performers, and the ability to apply that knowledge to creating dynamic and engaging content for a contemporary audience
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and generate content to reach new audiences on air and online
  • Appropriate tertiary educational qualifications or industry equivalent
  • Experience in digital editing and production systems, and a demonstrated understanding of recording principles and techniques for classical music, including the ability to read and interpret a complex score
  • Highly developed planning, negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to deliver high quality outcomes from live-to-air and complex productions, to meet broadcast deadlines

 

Tasks Include:

  • Producing music recordings, live broadcasts and other broadcast content
  • Creating online content to meet ABC Classic FM’s content briefs and network objectives
  • As part of the ABC Classic FM team, contributing to planning and operational processes
  • Representing ABC Classic FM externally; build and maintain relationships with artists and music organisations to ensure effective planning and broadcast outcomes
  • Keeping up to date with Australian and international classical music activities to inform content making
  • Actively promoting the ABC values and applying all relevant workplace policies and guidelines
