Mastodon’s Brent Hinds announces official Reverb shop

Launching on Thursday 23 August, the Brent Hinds Reverb Shop is set to feature several distinctive guitars from Hinds’ own collection, including a 1981 cream Gibson Flying V, a 2008 Gibson ’67 reissue Flying V, and the only existing First Act Custom Shop Lola Double Neck model designed by Hinds himself.

The collection is also set to feature a unique Hammond Colonnade Organ and a Robert Randolph Custom Sierra 13-string pedal steel guitar, two items which feature prominently on much of Mastodon’s studio output dating all the way back to their 2002 debut Remission.

In a statement for Reverb, Hinds expressed the importance of much of the gear set up for sale, noting his own sentimental attachment to many of the pieces. “There comes a time in your life when you have to get rid of everything and for me, that time is now,” he said.

“The music gear I’m selling in my Reverb shop is legitimate shit. All of it was heavily used – all over the world on tour, in the studio, and beyond. A lot of early Mastodon work was created on this gear.”
