Mackie debut the SRM-Flex column PA system

Portability is one of the main drawing cards with these new Column PAs, and it looks like Mackie are placing it to the forefront with the SRM-Flex. It’s extremely lightweight and can be split into three different pieces, making it easy to cart it about between gigs. There’s also a 10″ LF woofer built into the base of the cabinet module, which also houses the 1300W amplifier and digital mixer section offering six channels and complete wireless control.

The mixer can take two mic/line sources and boasts a dedicated stereo channel with dual 1/4″ line inputs, while an Aux In and Bluetooth channel lets you plug another audio source in to kick out the jams. Channels one and two contain two-band EQs and three different Reverbs to choose from, while there’s three voicing modes – Speech, Music and Live – to tweak the PA to your choosing.

In addition to the 10″ LF woofer down in the base of the unit, there’s six x 2″ high-performance HF drivers to pump out the wide-dispersion array of the SRM-Flex. You can also hook up your smartphone to control the SRM-Flex and customise the LED display and metering of the PA to suit your own modus operandi – a very tidy feature indeed.
