The new AIR series can record with a resolution of up to 24 bit/192 kHz, with M-Audio saying that the high-speed USB C integration enables a round-trip latency of 2.59ms. There’s also USB/blend knobs on the front panel of the interfaces to allow for latency-free monitoring, making your life in the studio ever-so-simple.
M-Audio’s AIR series ranges from the entry-level AIR 192|4, with two inputs – one of which features a XLR over TRS Crystal preamp and phantom power – and a stereo output with independent headphone controls. M-Audio are also offering the AIR 192|4 in a studio bundle with a pair of HDH40 headphones,a Nova Black condenser microphone and an XLR cable.
For something a bit bigger, the AIR 192|6 provides a second mic preamp and TRS input as well as a MIDI In/Out, while the AIR 192|8 improves on the 192|6 by adding dual RCA output channels and MIDI via 3.5mm jacks, making it a little more suitable for electronic producers. The big daddy of the series, the M-Audio AIR 192|14, features four XLR/TRS inputs with Crystal preamps, two TRS inputs and a stereo TRS input which can be used simultaneously, making it suitable for recording ensembles. There’s also added TRS outputs and two headphone jacks with independent volume controls.
In addition to all this, M-Audio are also improving on their revered M-Track Hub with the AIR Hub, offering a solution for when you’re running short on USB ports in the studio. There’s three USB-A connectors, a huge metal volume knob to easily navigate the interface, two TRS outputs to connect your monitors and a headphone jack. Again, this looks like a viable solution for electronic producers, and puts the cherry on top of this awesome new series from M-Audio.
