KISS announce details of 40th anniversary trading cards

The 18 card-base set will arrive in October courtesy of Dynamite Entertainment, and features signed Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley cards. It will consist of six autographed cards, three black-and-white-art cards, nine-card puzzle cards, two box-topper special cards and hand drawn original art signed sketch cards. The cards will be split into foil packs of six, or limited edition boxes including 12 foil packs.

Accompanying the trading cards release is Dynamite’s release of a new comic book series starring the enigmatic KISS, Blood and Stardust, also premiering in October. A typically cartoonish press release summarises the tale:

“An immortal cabal is taking the lives of innocents and the only ones who can stop them are KISS! The only problem: They are dead. And now they have to make a deal with a demon to save their souls and return to Earth to fight evil!”

The trading card and comic lore appear to precede the rumoured announcement of the largest-scale world tour KISS has ever played, with dates purported to begin in January 2019.  Fan speculation appears to conclude that it could be their final ever tour after singer-rhythm guitarist Paul Stanley recently trademarked the phrase ‘The End of the Road’.
