Melbourne's favourite psychonauts King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have shared details of their upcoming release 'Fishing For Fishies,' their first since 2017's mammoth five album run.
Taking to Instagram to share the announcement, the band have confirmed that Fishing For Fishies will see a release on Friday April 26, with preorders for the album going live from tomorrow.
The Melbourne seven piece have also provided fans with another offering from the upcoming release, sharing the album's title track as a new single and music video. Featuring a bizarre green-sceen heavy clip that simply screams out to be added to heavy rotation on Rage, the single sees King Gizz at their weird best, fusing swamp-rock rhythms with slide guitars and falsetto backing vocals - a stark contrast to the electro-bop of 'Cyboogie.' Watch it below.
With recent photos suggesting that the group have been working with Gareth Liddiard (Tropical Fuck Storm, The Drones) in the studio, it's fair to say that anticipation is definitely high for this release. Stay tuned for more news as it comes out.
