Iggy Pop is taking over Double J this July

All Hail The Godfather Of Punk

Lace your Docs up: punk legend Iggy Pop is returning to Australian shores next month to act as the Artist in Residence for July.

Each Sunday night in July, listeners will be treated to a dose of the punk rock pioneer’s Iggy Confidential show off his BBC6 radio program, with an encore on Wednesdays at 10pm and online listening available anytime.

The Artist in Residence sets will explore a different idea each week and Iggy will give airtime to the music he loves, with a special focus on new releases. As such, you can expect to hear songs from The Streets, Betty Davis, Princess Nokia, Tom Waits and more.

Back in 2014, Iggy presented a number of shows to Double J audiences, and we truly can’t wait to hear what he has in store for us this time.

The 72-year-old is living evidence that age is just a number, playing a timeless set to a packed out audience at Festival Hall earlier this year. As such, there’s no doubt that the Godfather of Punk will be welcome on Australian airwaves.
