A huge book documenting the life of Tom Morello is arriving in October

Whatever It Takes, which takes its name from a political slogan Morello frequently scrawls on his guitars, will arrive in stores later this October. Alongside a collection of rare images and stories from Morello’s musical career, the book will also trace his dedication towards political activism and how it’s intersected with his music.

Whatever It Takes will also contain a gamut of handwritten notes and set-lists from his time with Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and Prophets Of Rage, as well as mementos from his guest appearances with Bruce Springsteen, Wu-Tang Clan and more. The book will also feature several images of Morello’s famous customised guitars, making for the perfect treasure trove for any Morello fanatic.

The book is set to be made available in a range of different editions, including a 2000 piece limited run signed and numbered by Morello himself. These books will be bound in black cloth with red/gold foil blocking and red page edging, with each book coming in a special box loaded with Morello’s handwritten set-lists, a booklet of songs and chord charts from the Nightwatchman and an exclusive 7″ vinyl featuring ‘Whatever It Takes’ and an unreleased live recording of ‘Vigilante Nocturno.’

For super fans, there’s also a Deluxe edition that comes fully bound in vegan leather binding, with a lyric print of ‘Let Freedom Ring’ written by Morello for One Man Revolution, which is numbered and signed to make for a super collectable piece of Morello memorabilia.

Whatever It Takes arrives in bookstores via Genesis Publications this October. Preorder it here.
