Creative collective, studio, squad – House of Beige has meant a lot of things to the pair, and now it means a record label that is “a long-term dream come true”, says Sensible J.
Remi continues his impressive rise in the industry; from J Award winner, to winning the Australian Music Prize in 2014, and now to launching his own record label, it’s been a whirlwind two years for him.
“Whilst House of Beige will release records that we think are amazing, it’s a whole lot more than that. It’s a space where we can recognise our incredibly talented homies regardless of label.” says Remi.
“House of Beige has always been an affiliation, you know, people in our crew who have spent quality time in the physical House of Beige (the recording studio that is Sensible J’s spare bedroom).”
The first non-Remi release on the label will be the forthcoming album from Australian Hip Hop heavyweight HAU, The No End Theory, featuring singles ‘KILL.I.AM’ and ‘Skip Hop’.
“Having them to then put the album out through their label is just so fitting. It’s an honour to be the first cab off the rank. I’m super excited by the whole affair.” says Hau.
