Celebrated for its solid walnut body, the reissued Paul looks to be the epitome of Gibson’s back-to-basics approach for the new era. It offers a stripped-back take on a classic Les Paul design, made from quality materials such as Grade-A quarter sawn walnut with scarfing around the perimeter and a rosewood fingerboard.
Other features include a 490R humbucking pickup in the neck, a 498T pickup in the bridge, and a Vintage Gloss finish to complete the overall aesthetic.
The revival of The Paul marks a new beginning for Gibson, who recently announced former Levi Strauss president James Curleigh as their new CEO following their financial battles, which led the esteemed company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May this year.
