Fender offer in-depth look at Alternate Reality Sixty-Six model

It's Weird, But We're Here For It

After first revealing the model at NAMM earlier in the year, Fender has released a video deep-diving into the looks, specs and sounds of the new Alternate Reality Sixty-Six guitar.

With a distinctive down-sized Jazz Bass body and unique pickup setup, the Sixty-Six is definitely one of the more weird models the manufacturer has put out in recent years. The instrument features a lightweight ash body, maple neck and fretboard with 22 jumbo frets, as well as two Lipstick tube single coils and a beefy Fender humbucker in the bridge position.

There's also a cool (albeit weirdly located) pickup selector switch and funky Jazz Bass styled tone and volume controls with a lavish chrome plate to piece it all together.

Given that we're huge fans of the Jazz Bass body (arguably the finest body shape in Fender's bass stable), we're very interested to hear more about this wild beast. Listen to how it sounds below, and suss out all the details here
