Fender have announced an all new line of acoustic guitars, the California Series. Described as being a celebration of the lifestyle and culture associated with Southern California, the designs include nods to some of Fender’s most famous designs, including Stratocaster headstocks, vibrant colours and body shapes borrowed from their electric designs.
The series is comprised of the California Classic, California Special and California Player and features three body shapes – Malibu, Newporter and Redondo. These exclusive shapes boast refined geometry and unique bracing patterns designed for responsive, articulate tone.
The Player features a satin finish mahogany neck with an easy-to-play, slim-taper ‘C’-shaped profile suitable for any playing style. The Special features an all-solid construction, a fully-painted solid Sitka spruce top and matching 6-in-line headstock, as well as optimised bracing for superior resonance. The Classic has a fully-painted solid Sitka spruce top and natural solid mahogany back and sides, as well as a matching painted six-in-line headstock and koa binding and rosette.
Both the Special and Classic guitars are equipped with a Fender and Fishman designed PM preamp specifically tuned to complement the unique shape and voice of each instrument, complete with a tuner, plus frequency and phase controls.
Fender are distributed in Australia through Fender Music Australia.
