Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has partnered with Fender to release his Signature Sustainer Stratocaster, featuring a unique take on a classic design.
Announced at Summer NAMM, the Fender Ed O’Brien Signature Sustainer Stratocaster includes a Seymour Duncan JB Jr humbucker in the bridge alongside a sustainer neck pickup able to be controlled by an on/off switch. The sustainer pickup system also features a three-position switch able to move between ‘fundamental only’, ‘harmonic only’, or ‘blend’ modes.
The guitar is made with a maple neck in a 10/56 V neck profile, marking the neck’s first appearance outside of the Fender Custom Shop. A Flower of Life neckplate is incorporated into the design in lieu of O’Brien’s signature or name.
