As previously reported, the Fender Custom Shop announced last month that it would be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year by getting eight of its founding Master Builders to each design a new guitar.
With only 30 units being produced of each design, the Founders Design Project will be extremely rare to say the least, with different models being released on a monthly basis. The eight designers are all founding members of the Custom Shop, including Michael Stevens and John Page, whose designs are being released in March and April, followed by instruments from George Blanda, Fred Stuart, J.W. Black, Mark Kendrick, Alan Hamel and Gene Baker.
Fender have now released a 10 minute documentary about the project, which can be viewed below.
