FENDER CUSTOM SHOP RELEASE THE BOB BAIN TRIBUTE TELECASTER

The 'Son Of The Gun'

Having begun his career in the late 1930's, Bob Bain went on to play guitar with some of the recording giants of the 20th century, including Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Quincy Jones, as well as working in film and TV, playing on the Mission Impossible, Peter Gunn and Batman theme songs. Now 93 years old, the somewhat unsung hero has been honoured by the Fender Custom Shop with his own signature model, the Son Of The Gun Telecaster.

The model, which is a replica of Bain’s original guitar, will only be produced in very limited numbers, and features a two-piece off-centre select ash body, a maple riff-sawn neck with a traditional 50’s 'V' shape and the vintage-correct 7.25” radius fingerboard. Bain’s modifications include a Bigsby B16 Trem unit. It also has a Fender Nocaster 51 Singlecoil in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck position.
