Feast your eyes on these custom-made Judas Priest guitars

Commissioned for this year’s Bloodstock Festival, the two electric guitars pay tribute to classic Judas Priest albums British Steel and Angel of Retribution, and will be available to view at the festival’s RAM Gallery when the band headline the festivities on Friday night.

Cynosure’s Angel V takes cues from Judas Priest’s Painkiller and Angel of Retribution records, seeing the luthier modifying a traditional Flying V shaped guitar by adding a squirmish half-natural aesthetic, contrasting the feathered wood of the guitar’s body with a circular saw blade around the neck pickup. In a press statement for the Angel V, Cynosure claims the instrument “excludes a multitude of dimensions, both visually, conceptually, and musically.” Cynosure also details the guitar’s specs, stating “the black walnut body encapsulates the famed Glenn Tipton electricity, only matched by a streamlined neck striated with cumaru and maple woods.”

If that’s not enough, there’s also the Cynosure British Steel guitar, taking inspiration from the 1980 album of the same name. The instrument features a 3D graphic of the album cover, as well as a zebrawood fretboard with razorblade inlays, with a wenge body highlighting the contrast between dark and evil – like any good guitar inspired by a heavy metal album should.
