Spotify has announced that business executive Jane Huxley has been appointed as Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.
After departing her executive role in rival streaming company Pandora after five years in the position this March, Huxley will commence working with Spotify Aus/NZ at the start of September.
"For more than 25 years Jane has built a career based on innovation, media, technology and disruption, and is a respected and awarded business leader," said Spotify’s Chief Content Officer Stefan Blom in a statement. "Jane is an impressive addition to Spotify and we have every confidence in her ability to lead our very successful Australian & New Zealand business through the next phase of growth."
This news comes just weeks after Pandora’s decision to cease operations in Australia to focus on the American market, with the service officially shutting down it's Australian body at the end of July.
