Epiphone has released a brand new signature Les Paul Custom for rising blues star Jared Nichols, offering a stripped-back take on the classic Les Paul silhouette.
Based on Nichols' own 1955 Les Paul, the Epiphone 'Old Glory' fuses a weight-relieved mahogany body with a pristine ebony fingerboard, as well as boasting a single Seymour-Duncan P90 pickup, wraparound 'Lightning Bar' bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
Nichols has also added a little personal touch to the signature model, with a 'Blues Power' plate embossed behind the bridge and the guitarist's own signature printed on the back of the headstock, which also features a contrasting white colour.
According to a press statement, Nichols has been performing with a prototype of the Epiphone signature model for some time now, saying he was inspired by Aerosmith's Joe Perry (who seemingly also has his own signature Les Paul on the way).
"I've been playing the prototype of 'Old Glory' on stage since the day I got it," Nichols said. "Ever since Joe Perry loaned me a 50s Les Paul Custom with a single pickup, I knew I needed one of my own. This is an incredible guitar. I can't put it down. I'm so honoured and grateful. Thank you, Epiphone!"
