The 5MM pedal packs 2.5 watts of power, which is more than enough to drive most 8 or 16-ohm speaker cabinets. There’s a single volume knob to control your levels and one switch to flick between Normal and Bright modes, with the latter injecting an extra dose of presence into your tone.
If you’re looking to run a micro-rig for gigs without the need to lug along an amplifier, this is your ticket. All you’ll really need is a preamp or EQ pedal to shape your tone, or an overdrive if you like things spicy, and kaboom – you’re done. It’s a pretty nifty idea from EHX, who’ve been recently dropping new products left right and centre, and we can’t wait to get our hands on one.
