After not hearing from the DMA’S since they released their ARIA nominated LP Hills End, the band revealed their new single 'Dawning' this morning on triple j. As if that wasn't enough, the trio have announced that they are playing two very special shows in Melbourne and Sydney in November.
Though 'Dawning' has been a long time coming, it’s worth the wait. Fans and critics alike are being reminded of just how good the DMA’s are when it comes to writing pop songs, with the contrasting element of their dark lyrics.
“We feel like ‘Dawning’ gives people the opportunity to decide what the song means to them,” vocalist Tommy O’Dell explains in a statement. “While the message of the song is quite dark, we also wanted to create a piece of music that sounds uplifting and hopeful.”
The two intimate performances in Melbourne and Sydney will include new material, as well as fan favourites.
