It seems that Akai are about to unveil an all new hardware controller for FL Studio. Details of the as-yet-unannounced product were briefly made live on the US online equipment store iDJnow.
The listing has since been taken down but before the details could be captured and spread throughout the Internet. Named the Akai Fire FL Studio Performance Controller, Akai developed the unit together with Image Line, who produce FL Studio. It features four matrixes and 16 velocity sensitives RGB pads, so you can quickly input beats into FL's step sequencer or record live using performance mode.
Featuring designated knobs for controlling EQ, pan and volume, four banks of assignable touch-capacity controls and a small OLED screen, the Akai Fire is USB bus-powered. With more details presumably coming very soon, this is all we have to go on thus far but check back for more details in the coming days.
Akai are distributed in Australia through Electric Factory.
